Employment Contract: In the United Kingdom employment contract is mandatory, it must be given within a month of commencement. The contract should mention all the benefits, allowances, and leaves, along with the terms and conditions of service. 

Minimum Wages: The minimum wage in the UK is £10.42 per hour. 

Employer Taxes The employer taxes in the UK are approximately 16.28% - 20.25% 

Working Hours: Employees in the UK are not generally permitted to work more than 48 hours per week, but they can opt out of this limit in their contract. 

Annual Leave: All full-time employees in the UK are legally entitled to 28 days of paid vacation per year.

Probation Period:  The probationary period for employees ranges from 3 – 6 months.

Notice Period:  The notice period for United Kingdom employees varies on whether they are in their probationary status or not. For the former, the notice period will be up to 2 weeks, while the latter is up to 4 weeks. 

Termination:  Employees in the UK who are terminated after over one month's service are entitled to receive the above statutory minimum notice period. An employee may be dismissed without any notice period if they commit a serious breach of their employment contract (for example, gross misconduct). 

Severance Pay:  Except for redundancy dismissals there is no statutory entitlement to a severance payment as such and the employee has worked for the employer continuously for at least two years prior to the redundancy.
