Visa Sponsorship for Employers in the Netherlands
"Most companies find out they need a sponsor license after they've already made the offer. Sponsoring through our EOR skips that step entirely — you don't need your own license, because we already hold one."
Shrinivas Racha · Founder, Dhi ADTTo sponsor a work visa in the Netherlands, an employer normally needs their own IND sponsor license — a process that itself takes months. Dhi ADT already holds IND-recognized sponsor status, so when you hire through our EOR, visa sponsorship is included: no license application, no waiting. This is what "kennismigrant EOR" means in practice — hiring a Highly Skilled Migrant (kennismigrant) through an Employer of Record that's already authorized to sponsor them. Highly Skilled Migrant permits typically approve in 2–4 weeks this way, versus 90 days for a non-recognized sponsor.
What Does "IND-Recognized Sponsor" Actually Mean?
An IND-recognized sponsor is an employer the Dutch Immigration and Naturalisation Service (IND) has pre-vetted and authorized to sponsor work permits — including Highly Skilled Migrant (kennismigrant) visas — without per-application review of the sponsoring company itself. Non-recognized sponsors face full IND scrutiny on every application; recognized sponsors get fast-track processing.
Dhi ADT holds active IND-recognized sponsor status in the Netherlands.
Registered in the Register Normering Arbeid (RNA), SNA Certified.
Applies to both employees and, where relevant, students.

Processing Timeline
| Route | Typical Timeline |
|---|---|
| Kennismigrant via Dhi ADT (recognized sponsor) | 2–4 weeks |
| Kennismigrant, non-recognized sponsor | Up to 90 days |

| EU Blue Card (NL/DE/BE) | 5–8 weeks |
Salary Thresholds
Kennismigrant status requires the role to meet a minimum gross salary threshold, reviewed annually by the IND. Per 2026 figures, this is €5,942/month for employees aged 30 and above, and €4,357/month for those under 30. Dhi ADT checks threshold eligibility as part of every kennismigrant application, so you know upfront whether a candidate qualifies.
The 30% Ruling — A Quick Overview
Many kennismigrant hires also qualify for the 30% ruling, a Dutch tax facility that exempts up to 30% of salary from income tax for qualifying international employees. According to the Belastingdienst, roughly 91,000 employees used the ruling in 2023.
Dhi ADT checks 30% ruling eligibility for every international hire and files the application within the first month where applicable.
